Stafford Rangers Football Club awarded funding

Stafford Rangers Football Club awarded funding for ground improvement works at Marston Road Stadium.

Stafford Rangers Football Club have been awarded a grant for work on the car park, refurbishment of the turnstiles and replacement of an entrance gate. The funding has been awarded funding by the Premier League, through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF). As sister organisation of the Football Foundation, the FSIF are the largest funders of non-league football in the country.

The £46,649 FSIF grant will enable Stafford Rangers Football Club, who play in the BetVictor Northern Premier League at Step 3, to install new turnstiles, perimeter fencing gates and provide good car park facilities and safer access for away supporters.

The current car park is in very poor condition and the new surface will give safer access for all visitors to the football club, especially disabled supporters. The refurbishment of the away turnstiles and gates are necessary to comply with the club’s current Grade C rating in the FA National Ground Grading Criteria.

In addition to the first team Stafford Rangers FC have an under 18’s side who compete in the Midland Youth Football League and for the first time this season the club are running a Football Academy through the Northern Premier League. The club are also affiliated with Stafford Rangers Juniors FC, who run teams from Under-9s through to Under-17s.

Ken Hunt, Joint President of Stafford Rangers Football Club said “We are extremely grateful to the Football Stadia Improvement Fund and the Premier League for this grant which will greatly enhance both the safety and quality of facilities for fans and visitors to Marston Road Stadium. This will hugely benefit disabled visitors to the ground, as the existing car park surface makes life very difficult for them. Cosmetically, the appearance of the ground will also greatly improve.”
