Buxton 30.08.21
Aug 31, 2021

First Half
It was a frustrating afternoon for Rangers as they welcomed highflyers Buxton to Marston Road
Stafford Rangers’ number 9 Jake Charles had a great chance to score in the first half after he was put through on goal following a long ball behind the Buxton defence who were caught napping. It was Buxton who took the lead through number 14 Ashley Chambers in the 10th minute after a fantastic phase of play. Buxton moved the ball around well and Rangers defence were all at sea. After the goal it was a very good response to going a goal down from Rangers. They could have and probably should have been on level terms when their number 7 Joseph Kenton had an open goal to shoot at after the Buxton keeper was caught in no man’s land following a challenge with Stafford’s number 9 Jake Charles. The Buxton defence recovered well to send the ball behind for a corner. 0-1 HT

Second Half
Buxton had to really dig in and fight for everything in the second half and to their credit they did just that. Stafford Rangers ‘gave their all in the second half and throughout the 90 minutes but were unable to find the equalizer. Luca Navarro nearly scored late on but his shot was straight at the keeper. The game finished 0-1 to 2nd in the league Buxton. Rangers should be proud of their performance after pushing Buxton all the way.
