Rangers Lose a Star Player

Whist spending 8 years at Stafford Rangers John Macmillan has not managed any game time on the pitch but, during his time at the club, he has played an integral part in moving The Rangers forward from behind the scenes as a Director ( since May 2021) and as Company Secretary since 2014.

SRFC are sad to confirm that John has resigned from his positions with immediate effect and thank him for his immense contribution over the years.

Chairman John Bromley states ‘John has been a vitally important member of the boardroom for a considerable amount of time, and we are extremely sorry to see him go, but respect his decision to bring this chapter to an end. He has executed his responsibilities in such a professional manner. Throughout his tenure with the club he has been at the heart of many new initiatives and we will miss his experience, his legal mind, his enthusiasm, loyalty and commitment’.

Whilst wishing to move away from any day to day decision making involvement concerning the business he still wants to be an active member of the Boro Development Group (BDG) and believes he can still help move the club forward within the framework of the body which was formed during the first difficult days of Covid-19.

John will also continue to help in a couple of areas. He has been fundamental in putting together the newly formed and registered Stafford Rangers in the Community Charity and will stay on as a trustee. He will also continue to help advise the club in a legal capacity across a range of matters.

We will still see John supporting his beloved Rangers from the stand at games but we wish him well for the future and hope that he gets more time to enjoy his other passions.

John, Thank you for all you have done for the football club.
