New Fans Rep Appointed

As everyone is aware some weeks ago we reached out to our supporters to get nominations from Fans looking to take on the challenging role of Fans Rep.

It was the intention that the nominees would be voted for by fans with an on line poll.

Unfortunately we received only two applications which was a surprise to us. Our objective is to generate even better communication between supporters and the club and ensure we are fully aware of suggestions fans have to improve any area of the football club or business and benefit from skill-sets that we are not aware of, to improve our commercial activity.

The aim was a genuine and open one as we continue our quest to take the club to a higher level and meet our goal of being the best club on and off the field, in non-league football.

We have made huge steps forward in the past 18 months despite horrendous trading conditions due to Covid-19 and whilst there are still many obstacles to overcome we are a different club on and off the field than we were only a couple of years ago.

Our two nominees were Denis Ecclestone and Luke Botfield. Both great loyal fans and we thank them both for stepping up to the mark. Due to his time consuming responsibilities as our groundsman, Dennis has decided that he has a great deal to do already and decided to step aside. Dennis does fantastic work for the club and we thank him for his continued support and commitment. He is an unsung hero and we are very grateful for all his efforts that take up so much time.

We are now delighted to tell you that we have invited Luke Botfield to join us as the Fans Rep for the next 12 months. We are sure you will congratulate and thank Luke for putting his name forward and can have confidence that your views opinions and suggestions will be communicated directly by him to the Boro Development Group (BDG) in the first instance who will then make representation to the Board when required.

Luke, a local Stafford man, has been a fan of Stafford Rangers for many years has developed strong relationships with many supporters and views fans as an extended family. He believes strongly that improving relationships will make us stronger and is determined to do everything possible to achieve this. His day job delivers excellent listening and communication skills which are vital ingredients to all areas of every business.

Luke states ‘I really look forward to working with everyone to ensure that we reach our objectives. We can all play a part in the Stafford Rangers family and I’m delighted to be invited in to the role and assure all fans that I will listen and do what I can to help the club I love’.
