Early statement of intent
The football club is delighted to confirm that the following players have agreed terms and committed for the 2025-2026 season. Neil and his team have been working tirelessly to add to and improve the current squad already retained and we expect more signings to be confirmed over the next couple of weeks.
Firstly, we can announce the return of enigmatic winger Joe Cuff. Joe, now 29, returns to the club after spending the majority of last season at Shifnal Town FC. Joe did spend a brief period on loan with us last season, but despite our efforts the period could not be extended. Joe always expressed his desire to return to the Boro and has a clear affinity with our fans.
Secondly, we can announce the signing of highly rated goalkeeper Callum Smith from Stourbridge FC. Callum at 23 is a real prospect and is well known to Kitch having played at Boldmere St Michaels. As a young keeper Callum has gained experience at Walsall Wood, during their promotion winning season, Leamington, Stratford and Redditch but is joining the Boro as our new number one keeper.
Finally, we can announce the signing of left sided defender/midfielder Alex Worley from Stratford Town FC. The 21-year-old started his career at Walsall before moving on to Stourbridge FC, for the first of two spells, before ending the season with Stratford Town FC. With experience gained at Step 3, Alex will provide depth to our defensive and midfield options, as we push forward into the new season.
On welcoming the players to the club, Neil Kitching stated:
I’m really pleased to get these three over the line early on, before we come back for pre-season. We needed that strength in depth, making sure we brought in players that would improve us, strengthen us, with experience and youth and energy. All three will contribute massively next season.
We will be releasing player interviews over the next few days – so watch out for them on our Social Media Channels.
Welcome to the Boro, Callum and Alex; and welcome back Joe.
