This coming Saturday sees us welcome Basford United to Marston Road for the penultimate home game of the season with an early KO of 1pm. A warm welcome to all the Basford players, backroom staff, directors and fans.
Gates will be open from 11.30 and the bar will be opening from 11am. After the game has finished we will be screening the FA Cup Semi Final, stay on to enjoy more great football!!
Not only is this a game we are all looking forward to but we are also producing a Commemorative Match Day programme to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of our 1972 FA Trophy win . On April 15th 50 years ago we played in the final at Wembley stadium and beat Barnet 3-0 to bring the trophy back to Stafford. We are sure many of you will have fabulous memories of that day! Anyone wishing to reserve a copy can do so be contacting Ken or Roy on 01785 602431. Option3.
Our Match Sponsor for the day is Kevin Miller. The sponsorship is in celebration of his son Nicholas who will become a father at the end of May. The ‘male baby shower’ will take place in the company of two Grandads, family and friends. We are sure you will have a great enjoyable and memorable day, congratulations from all at the club and thank you for your support.
We also welcome 2 other parties who will be enjoying our hospitality. Our very own John Macmillan will be having a day off from his responsibilities as one of the club’s directors and will be bringing a family party of 13 to the club. Shaun Holt from SPL Design & Build Ltd will also be entertaining his party of 10.
Let’s hope we all have something to celebrate at full time with a great team performance.
Prior to the game our Super Fan and Rangers stalwart Eric Robbins is inviting all 35 participants of the Sponsored Results initiative to the bar at 12.30 to thank all for their support. His scheme has raised £2519 to date with 3 games to go. 35 tickets will be put into a draw with 3 winning tickets drawn by Chairman John Bromley. First Prize will be £50, Second Prize a bottle of Whiskey and 3rd Prize a bottle of Red Wine. Eric and the 35 participants we thank you.
Eric also wants to update fans regarding the Stafford Rangers Lottery which has raised some £78,000 in profit since its launch and paid out a total of £43,500 in prizes. You have got to be in it to win it and whilst we currently have 300 active members we still believe with your help we can increase this to 400. The lottery is used to help finance all sorts of infrastructure around the club and ground and its support and growth is vital to your football club so don’t delay join today!
Up The Boro
