Boost the Boro Lottery finances pitch improvements
As part of our commitment to continually improve the football club and our facilities, we are delighted to share the news that following the 5-0 home victory over Ashton United last Saturday, we immediately started pitch renovation works.
Rangers have engaged David Rhodes, who specialises in football pitches and maintenance, to undertake the improvements, he will be working closely with our dedicated groundsman Dennis Ecclestone and his team to ensure the Marston Road surface is in top condition for Matt Hill’s side ahead of the new season, with a surface worthy of the passing style our team deserves.
This project is funded by our Boost the Boro Lottery, so everyone at the football club would like to say a huge thank you to the amazing support from the members of this scheme, which makes these works and other ground improvements possible.
You can join the lottery from £5 per month, from which 3 lucky winners are chosen for the chance to win 1st Prize – £500, 2nd Prize – £100, 3rd Prize – £50.
The next steps and ongoing assistance of the lottery:
In addition to these works, we have also applied to the Premier League Stadium Improvement Fund for a 70% grant towards the cost of a brand-new irrigation system, which will include break tank and booster set to overcome issues the football club experiences due to a low mains water pressure in the area. This will make care of the playing surface easier during the season.
The balance of the irrigation investment will be paid by the lottery, taking its contribution towards pitch improvement works to around £9,000. We will keep you updated as the grant application progresses.
