John Calls Time
Stafford Rangers Chairman John Bromley has decided the time is right for him to step down as Chairman of the football club with immediate effect.
He has served the Rangers for over ten years giving a huge amount of time and effort since he joined the club he loves in 2014.
He has seen many changes both on and off the pitch during his tenure and no one can doubt his passion for the club and his tenacity and patience in maintaining a position that is often open to criticism and questioning.
The last few seasons have been difficult ones, but his enthusiasm and commitment has never waned.
John is a fine man, and no one should doubt his courage on trying to do what he believed was always the best for the club.
John Hayne has been appointed Chairman with immediate effect by the board and we congratulate and wish him all the best.
It was a difficult decision, but JB believes that it is the right time to retire from the chairman’s position. At 79 he admits the energy levels are lower, but his enthusiasm is the same, and he will now, continue to operate as a board director.
John’s wife continues to suffer from poor health and after surgery this week we wish her the very best. John will need to spend more time by her side as they fight an even bigger battle together.
John states:
I have been at the club for ten years. It was always a dream of mine to be chairman of Stafford Rangers. As a young 6 year old lad I used to watch the club sitting on my dad’s shoulders with gates of 6,000 fans. I feel I have fulfilled my dream, but my main priority now is to concentrate on looking after my wife from this point forwards. It is time for a change and a new chairman is a positive change for the club. The board have appointed John Hayne to take over and he has my total support, confidence, and respect. I have done my absolute best over the years for the club recognising the part it plays in the community, and I have enjoyed every minute. The times ahead look exciting especially now with Neil Kitching returning as manager. I would like to thank every one of you for your continued support. Up the Boro.
