Six more through the door
In a hectic week of activity Dave Cooke has bolstered the squad with a flurry of signings, which will give major selection headaches ahead of our visit to Stalybridge Celtic. We can confirm the following:
Joining us from Stratford Town is 24 year old, 6’4” midfielder Dylan Barkers. Dutch born Dylan has league and national league experience with the likes of Solihull Moors, Guiseley, Cheltenham, Gloucester City and Hereford. Dylan was impressive in the second half against Buxton last weekend and comes straight into the squad this weekend.
Joining Dylan is central midfielder Diego Esquivel McGann. 19 year old Diego comes from Belfast and has signed from Larne FC and has impressed the management in a series of friendlies.
Centre Half Ben Hockenhull joins from Tranmere Rovers. 23 year old Ben started his career at Manchester United before a move to Brentford and latterly Tranmere. Whilst at Tranmere Ben has had loan spells at Chorley, Spennymoor and Southport. Ben will add strong competition for a defensive start and brings great experience to the squad.
Also signing is left-sided midfielder Theo Knight from Llandudno FC. 19 year old Theo is a former Shrewsbury Town scholar and has also played at Bala Town. Theo impressed whilst trialling for Whitchurch Alport against the Boro and has subsequently signed for us following international clearance.
18 year old midfielder Ethan O’Sullivan joins from Torquay United, having had previous spells at Yeovil Town and Perth Glory FC. Stafford born Ethan is excited at joining his home town club and is keen to press for a first team start.
Finally, 17 year old striker Luca Whitney joins on work experience until January 2025. Luca impressed as a second half introduction against Buxton and is highly rated by his parent club. Luca was prolific at Shrewsbury last season scoring 30 goals for the U18s and making his first team debut.
Let’s give a warm Boro welcome to all!
