Nathan Blissett agrees terms

Nathan BlissettNathan Blissett is delighted to re-sign with Stafford Rangers and says manager Matt Hill’s ambitions sit well with him as the striker looks forward to next season.

Blissett joined the Boro back in late February and played a big part in the tremendous end to the season which saw Stafford to a 12th-placed finish in the Northern Premier League.

The striker netted twice against Liversedge away from home and became an important member of Matt Hill’s side.

Blissett will return to Marston Road next season and is extremely pleased about this saying: “I’m very happy.

“I’ve been in conversation with a few clubs over the off-season just to see what’s on offer, but nothing could really work as well as what Stafford have offered me.

“With the season and how it finished I feel like we had a really strong team and what the manager’s looking to do moving forward sits right with what I want to do next season.”

The 32-year-old revealed manager Hill has been keen to tie him down for another season and spoke about his love for the team spirit and atmosphere at the Rangers.

“The gaffer was calling me non-stop throughout the last couple of weeks,” said the forward.

“The changing room is amazing. I’ve had a career of 11-plus years but that changing room is brilliant.

“From the first time I went in there. Singing after games when we win.

“There’s a real team ethos and it was a joy to be part of it in the two-three months that I was there so I’m more than happy to go again with those boys and see what we can do next season.”

Blissett is looking forward to the return after a well-earned break and believes he can offer something good to the younger players with his experience .

He said: “I’m looking forward to it, I’m going to enjoy my off-season, I’m not rushing to get back.

“I’m a senior pro now, I can bring a bit of senior knowledge and wisdom to the younger lads, help them along the way and get a bit more out of them, while doing that to myself.

“I’m not sure how many years I’ve got left. I want to be productive and do something with my career, so hopefully it ends up being a good year and we can achieve something brilliant.”
