Sam Bird flies home

The club can confirm that Sam Bird has returned to Stockport County FC following the end of his loan spell on the 2nd January 2024. Whilst we have tried to extend the loan for a further period, the player and his agent are considering other options at this stage.

We would like to thank Sam for his total commitment to the club in his time here and he will always be welcomed back should the opportunity arise. We know that he has developed as a player during his time with us and has been pivotal under the current turnaround in form. We would like to wish Sam success with his footballing career and will always keep an eye on his progress.
