Be a part of the solution not the problem

On Tuesday evening 25th January we played an away league game against Radcliffe and during the game a Stafford Rangers fan was ejected from the ground for abusing the opposition goalkeeper, using foul, totally unacceptable language.

SRFC have carried out a full and extensive enquiry into this disgraceful act of verbal abuse.

We wish to publicly confirm that the wrong fan was ejected and the individual concerned wrongly identified on the night.

We profusely and comprehensively apologise to our supporter and know that the entire incident has caused substantial distress, hurt and embarrassment. We are deeply sorry for this and hope that trust and respect can be rebuilt.

Someone did however make these comments and we want to make our position clear to them personally and anyone else who seeks to abuse not only others, but to discredit and dishonour our clubs name and the value of the game and our colours.

Stafford Rangers stance reflects that of all football organisations. We will not tolerate any kind of racist, sexist or homophobic language or any kind of abusive language that not only breaks the law but causes huge amounts of harm to us as a society and we seek to play our part in improving the football experience for all.

We have demonstrated through our Academy, Soccer Schools and Youth Squads that we are invested in the young new generation. We all have to accept and play a part in ensuring that our football club leads by example, making Stafford Rangers a welcoming inclusive environment where parents have confidence to bring their children to a safe and secure stadium.

We do not seek in any way shape or form to diminish passion but anyone using any of the abuse listed above will be removed from the ground and banned.
