First half
Radcliffe looked the better of the two sides for much of the first half; they made it very difficult for Rangers to play the way they wanted too. Rangers struggled to keep the ball and failed to get up the pitch for the majority of the first half. Radcliffe looked very dangerous when they had the ball although they weren’t able to get on the score sheet. Rangers did look very solid in defence with number 2 Andrew Burns heading everything that came his way. Radcliffe did have the ball in the net but it was ruled out for what looked like offside at the end of the first half. It was 0-0 at the break.
Second half
The second half was a much tighter game with both teams competing to win every ball; Rangers pressed forward, getting more crosses into the box and they managed to bring their wide men into the game. In the 67th minute Rangers got the goal they had been looking for when a right-hand sided corner was headed home by man of the match Thomas Tonks.
New signing Luca Navarro came on for Ben Woods mid-way through second half and he once again made an impact by scoring the second goal for Rangers in the 79th minute after his free kick deflected into the net. 2-0 full time.
