ERIC’S QUIZ/PREDICTIONS FUND RAISER RESULTS

Eric Robins update on results.

I am now able to announce the result of my latest fund raising project as the 2020/21 season has been officially terminated. However, before I announce the result I would like to thank the 33 entrants and 27 donors who, at £5 each, enabled me to raise £300 for the club. Thanks also to John Bromley for his donation of £150 to the prize fund.

So as you can see I had one outright winner on 16 points and I am pleased to announce the winner has donated the £150 prize back to the club. A very generous gesture, however, they have told me they do not want any publicity and wish to remain anonymous and I respect their wishes. So that is why I have detailed only numbers of entrants and points scored rather than listing names.  However, if any entrants wish to know the score, please contact me for the information.

Thanks again for your support, it is greatly appreciated by myself and the directors.

HILL WANTS TO PLAY ‘PRESSURE FOOTBALL’

For Stafford Rangers, the last few months may have been filled with twice weekly player and coaching staff Zoom calls but with the 2020/21 season now officially curtailed, Rangers boss Matt Hill is now concentrating solely on what needs to be done in advance of the new season in August and putting building blocks in place.

His first objective has been to ensure he has got the nucleus of an excellent back room staff.
Matt is delighted to announce the immediate appointment of Dale Belford as First Team Assistant Manager. Dale started his playing days at Aston Villa and made over 1,000 professional and semi pro appearances in his goalkeeping career playing for Nott’s County, Tamworth,( played for the club over 4 decades) Hinckley and Coalville. He then gained valuable management experience at Atherstone, Tamworth, Rugby Town, Hinckley, and Stratford before accepting the Assistant Managers post to work alongside Matt Hill.

Dale is enthusiastic about his appointment explaining ‘Rangers have a great history but I look forward to working with Matt and concentrating on delivering a great future for the club and its fans’

The back room staff is completed with John Psaras, First team Coach, Paul Hayward, Goalkeeping Coach and Ben Pickford, First Team Analyst.

Matt states’ I think we have a good strong management team in place at the right time with Dale bringing excellent playing and management experience and excellent contacts throughout the midlands. We both have the same approach and football philosophy we want to play Pressure Football. It’s my first new signing and a great one ’

Rangers Manager also views the role of the Academy and Development squad as a vital aspect of the clubs development going forward, and sees his role to not only to provide a winning first team but also to bring a cohesive structure to the club that will benefit everyone in the long term. Matt also see’s greater opportunity to develop links with other bigger local clubs.

The Development Squad are also delighted to announce that Ben Pickford and Tim Turner have been appointed as Assistant Manager and Head Coach with immediate effect.

Matt accepts he is in management terms inexperienced, but he now feels confident that he has a strong backroom staff around him to start Rangers next Challenge.

‘I am young, confident and hungry to achieve success, carry no baggage and we are determined to get it right. Experience doesn’t and hasn’t always delivered success so I want the fans to get behind us as we make decisions going forward to play a team that keeps the ball in the opponents half and wins games’.

Eric Robins’ Predictions Fund Raiser Update

With our league season now being quite uncertain, Eric Robins wanted to update the fans regarding his latest fund raiser.  This is one more episode in Eric’s long history of raising thousands for The Boro!

“I thought now that we have entered 2021 and the season is on hold it would be an appropriate time to update my sponsors on the current scores because if, as is likely, the season does not resume the final result of my competition will be as it stands at present.

I would like to thank the 33 entrants and 27 donors who at £5 each enabled me to raise £300 for Stafford Rangers.  Your support is greatly appreciated by myself and the directors.  Thanks also go to our chairman John Bromley and another sponsor who donated the £150 prize money.

The league table as it stands would mean I have one outright winner on 16 pts. The remaining details are as follows;- 3 on 15, 8 on 14, 7 on 13, 7 on 12, 3 on 11, 3 on 10 and 1 on 6.

As soon as the season is officially terminated full details will be posted on the club’s official website and the lucky winner presented with £150.  In the meantime if any of my 33 entrants would like to know their current points score they can contact me on 01785 600231.

Best Wishes & Up The Boro!

Eric Robins.

Happy New Year to Everyone

Happy New Year to Everyone

Well 2020 has finally come to an end and we are sure that no one is sad to see it go. A year of frustration, uncertainty, bad news and difficulties that no one could have imagined. The whole country had to come to terms with living in a pandemic that bought everyday life to a standstill.

Despite this it has sometimes bought out the very best in people and we at the football club have been humbled by the support we have received. The generosity of your donations through fundraising has enabled the football club to sustain itself during the worst of years and we come through 2020 together and stronger. We have maintained a determination to succeed greater than ever. It is however not just what you have given which has been inspirational but the way that you have done it that we are so proud of.

At the turn of the year we say a huge thank you to our fans, our staff, our players, and large team of volunteers who have selflessly worked so hard to prepare for and deliver match days when we could. To the people who have worked hard behind the scenes constantly repairing and renewing areas of the stadium you have done magnificently.

We are all proud to be part of the Stafford Rangers family that sits within our community and we will all come through this together with new aspirations, new hopes and face new challenges together.

New Year’s Eve will be different for us all with none of the usual celebrations that see the old year out and New Year in. We sincerely wish you all the very best for 2021and we want to see as many SRFC glasses raised in celebration on Social Media as we can muster.

Many of you may well be spending New Year alone and we will be thinking of you, but don’t forget, being part of the Rangers family means you will never stand truly alone and we will raise a glass to all our fans and family tonight.

As you are all aware no games or training are allowed in Tier 4 and currently all games are cancelled until at least January 12th . We will keep you advised of any changes or developments as soon as we have further clarity.

Happy New Year and thank you!
