Stafford Rangers overcame a three goal half time deficit to draw this friendly with Eccleshall.
At a misty Pershall Park, Rangers fielded triallist Sam Bell at right back with none of the side that started against Stocksbridge Park Steels being called upon.
But the game got off to a bad start when a Joe Rogers back pass put keeper Adam Alcock in trouble. Alcock’s attempted clearance struck Tom Wakefield and the Eccleshall striker was able to force the ball home to give his side a 2nd minute lead.
The home side made it 2-0 on 11 mins. Wakefield was again involved after his shot was well saved by Alcock but home skipper Danny Hughes followed up to score.
Alan Nagington shot wide from a Michael Morton centre and Rob Stevenson had a shot blocked but Rangers were struggling to get a hold on the game. On the stroke of half time, Eccleshall were awarded a penalty... (Full Report)
