New Scheme Announced

New Scheme Announced

Creating the coaches of the future

Stafford Rangers in the Community is proud to announce an exciting and innovative new scheme to give young people the chance to take the first steps towards a career in football coaching. Each year we will pay for up to 10 youngsters to take their stage 1 coaching badges and then provide work experience for them to hone their coaching skills delivering the charity’s own community programme. In time we hope to expand this programme to other sports. To do this we need to raise around £2,000 p.a. of which £500 has already been pledged for this year. We need to raise the money quickly to meet the deadlines for the next training courses.

Will you support this great scheme by making a donation, however small? You can do so by visiting our Just Giving page. If you are a UK taxpayer you can increase the value of your donation to the charity by 21% by agreeing to Gift Aid it – don’t worry, the extra money comes from the government not you!

STOP PRESS NEWS! The first 5 candidates for the coaching course have been chosen from our Academy students. Congratulations to them and thanks to our Community Engagement Officer Andy Turner for all his hard work organising this scheme.

Striker adds more firepower

Niah Payne

We are pleased to announce the signing of striker Niah Payne from Spennymoor Town FC. Now 24, Niah started his career with Bradford City before moving to Scotland, signing for Peterhead, where he became a firm fans favourite, making over 50 appearances. The need to relocate back to Leeds for family reasons saw Niah sign for Spennymoor Town at the start of last season, but with the management team moving on, his game time became limited, resulting in loan moves to Warrington Rylands, Hednesford Town and Marske United.

We have beaten off interest from Step 2 and Step 3 clubs to sign Niah and welcome him to the Boro.

We can also confirm the return of three familiar faces to the squad, all firm prospects for the future, keen to make an immediate impact. Welcome back strikers Ethan Morgan and Tyreece Onyeka and goalkeeper Jack Sandel. All three have committed to the Boro for their development at Step 3, under the guidance of Matt Hill and Dale Belford.

Welcome back!
