First Half It was a frustrating afternoon for Rangers as they welcomed highflyers Buxton to Marston Road Stafford Rangers’ number 9 Jake Charles had a great chance to score in the first half after he was put through on goal following a long ball behind the Buxton defence who were caught napping. It was Buxton who took the lead through number 14 Ashley Chambers in the 10th minute after a fantastic phase of play. Buxton moved the ball around well and Rangers defence were all at sea. After the goal it was a very good response to going a goal down from Rangers. They could have and probably should have been on level terms when their number 7 Joseph Kenton had an open goal to shoot at after the Buxton keeper was caught in no man’s land following a challenge with Stafford’s number 9 Jake Charles. The Buxton defence recovered well to send the ball behind for a corner. 0-1 HT
Second Half Buxton had to really dig in and fight for everything in the second half and to their credit they did just that. Stafford Rangers ‘gave their all in the second half and throughout the 90 minutes but were unable to find the equalizer. Luca Navarro nearly scored late on but his shot was straight at the keeper. The game finished 0-1 to 2nd in the league Buxton. Rangers should be proud of their performance after pushing Buxton all the way.
First half There wasn’t a lot in the first half with both teams looking very good defensively. Luca Navarro went close for Rangers early on after some good work on the edge of the box but the Ashton keeper made a great save to keep the score level. Both teams worked hard on and off the ball for the majority of the first half with the two teams evenly matched. Ashton caused Rangers some problems towards the end of the first half when they had a great chance to open the scoring after working a really decent opportunity behind the Ranger’s defence, but Mubarak Adarabioyo fired high and wide over the bar for Ashton.
Second half Ashton was the better team for large parts of the second half when they had numerous chances to score but their finishing really let them down. Rangers did look dangerous on the counter attack with number 9 Jake Charles working hard upfront to create something for Stafford Rangers Jake did mange to get clear of the Ashton defence but wasn’t able to beat the keeper. As the game neared its end both teams pushed forward for the winner with Ben Woods hitting the post late on for Rangers.
First Half Rangers started brightly with Luca Navaro looking sharp in the opening minutes, after some good work down the left he cut in onto his stronger foot and flashed the ball across the box, Jake Charles got on the end of it but couldn’t poke it home. Basford took a while to get going in the first half and against the run of play the took the lead in the 25th minute after a ball from Basford number 10 Kane Richards looped over goal keeper Jonathon Brown. Jake Charles nearly equalized for Rangers after his volley mid-way through the first half fizzed just wide of the Basford goal keeper’s post. It wasn’t a bad first half both teams had plenty of desire and played well. Ryanjay Malbon was replaced by ben Woods for Rangers in the 35th minute due to injury. 1-0 to Basford at half time.
Second half Rangers went close early on in the second half after a dangerous delivery from a corner almost found its way to Thomas Tonks but he was unable to make contact with ball. In the 59th minute Jake Charles scored the equalizer for Rangers after he was put through on goal, he rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the net 1-1. On 66 minutes Basford were down to 10 men after their number 7 and also captain Matt Thornhill was sent off following what was an extremely dangerous tackle on Rangers’ number 8 Thomas Tonks. Rangers looked the better team after the sending off and almost snatched the points late on after Luca Navaro hit the post with about 20 minutes remaining. 1-1 FT A great game of football between two very good sides the attendance for the game was 309.

Radcliffe looked the better of the two sides for much of the first half; they made it very difficult for Rangers to play the way they wanted too. Rangers struggled to keep the ball and failed to get up the pitch for the majority of the first half. Radcliffe looked very dangerous when they had the ball although they weren’t able to get on the score sheet. Rangers did look very solid in defence with number 2 Andrew Burns heading everything that came his way. Radcliffe did have the ball in the net but it was ruled out for what looked like offside at the end of the first half. It was 0-0 at the break.
Second half
The second half was a much tighter game with both teams competing to win every ball; Rangers pressed forward, getting more crosses into the box and they managed to bring their wide men into the game. In the 67th minute Rangers got the goal they had been looking for when a right-hand sided corner was headed home by man of the match Thomas Tonks.
New signing Luca Navarro came on for Ben Woods mid-way through second half and he once again made an impact by scoring the second goal for Rangers in the 79th minute after his free kick deflected into the net. 2-0 full time.

It was a match in which both teams were looking to build on opening day wins. Rangers had the better of the play in the first half with early possession of the ball and they created the better chances with Tom Tonks hitting the post and causing the Warrington defence problems with his long throw. Jake Charles came close for Rangers after firing a shot just over the bar following some good control from a long throw. Warrington didn’t really offer much going forward but they looked quite good defensively. Rangers had chances to score but were unable to finish them. They did score a goal in the first half however it was ruled out following a foul on the keeper after a long throw. It was 0-0 at the break.
Second Half
Warrington came into the game in second half making it very difficult for rangers to break them down and causing them problems on the break. It was Warrington who made the breakthrough after a shot rebounded off the post allowing their left back Edmund Clarke to smash the ball into the roof of the net in the 66th minute. 1-0 Warrington. Things got worse for Rangers when keeper Adam Whitehouse was forced off with an injury to his hamstring Thomas Tonks replaced him in goal. Rangers nearly snatched a point when a free kick from Joe Cuff hit the post late on. But ultimately Rangers’ efforts were in vain as they suffered their first defeat of the season losing 1-0 to Warrington.

It was a drama filled afternoon at Marston Road as Stafford Rangers kicked off the new season in style
First half
The opening exchanges of the first half were very scrappy with both teams looking to win the battle for possession, after a few minutes of long balls it was Rangers who seemed to get the ball down and play some good attacking football. Morpeth seemed to be slow out of the blocks and took a while to get going.
In the 21st minute Rangers made the breakthrough when a long throw from Thomas Tonks was met by Joseph Kenton to make it 1-0 to Rangers. Morpeth failed to really respond to going a goal down with Rangers having numerous chances to extend their lead, fair play to the Morpeth keeper Daniel Lowson who made some great saves to keep it 1-0 going into the break.
Second half
Morpeth needed to respond in the second half having been second best for much of the first. However, things got worse for them when their captain, Wayne Phillips, was sent off following a really late tackle on Joseph Kenton. With Morpeth down to 10 men that meant a change in shape for them which almost saw them secure a point following an 82nd min goal from number 6 Chris Reid. Rangers pushed forward going into the last minutes of the game and Joseph Kenton sent the crowd absolutely wild following an 89th minute winner for Rangers. New signing Luca Nuvaro made it 3-1 in the 92nd minute.
