MATCHDAY VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR

MATCHDAY VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR

Volunteers are the very essence and lifeblood of Stafford Rangers and always will be.

A match day at Marston Road is a busy time for everyone involved as we try to provide fans and sponsors with the very best experience we can. To achieve this the club needs to ensure we clearly identify the areas we need help with, and communicate effectively with those volunteers in advance of match days.

We recognise the need for a volunteer co-ordinator and are delighted to announce that Alison Broom has agreed to take on this role. Alison has been actively supporting the club together with her partner Alex for the past 4 years, since moving up from London. Many of you will know her from the help she gives us on the gates at home games. In her day job she manages a team of 10 people within a partnership’s role in Stafford and her enthusiasm for the club and experience will be a fantastic asset in her role as Matchday Volunteer Co-ordinator.

If you have an interest in being part of the club as a volunteer can you please e mail Alison at: alison.broom@staffordrangersfc.co.uk

She will be contacting all volunteers over the course of the next couple of weeks to ensure we have an up to date register of volunteers and will be actively encouraging volunteers to step forward and offer their help. We thank Alison for agreeing to take this responsibility on and know you will wish her all the best.

STAFFORD RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB – PROGRAMME EDITOR

The resumption of the Premier League has given us hope that football will return at NPL level in the not too distant future.

In preparation for the forthcoming season, applications are required from interested persons for the important role of match day Programme Editor

For the past few years Chris Elsley has undertaken this role and the programmes produced by him have been of excellent quality. Due to work commitments Chris is no longer able to devote the time and effort to continue in this role.

A job description is available to anyone interested in being considered for this role.

This is a voluntary position but does have benefits. Free entry to the ground on match days and, subject to available space, travel on the team coach to away fixtures.

In the first instance please indicate your interest by emailing Ken Hunt at commercial@staffordrangersfc.co.uk

Pulling it all together

News from the BCG and the Club

Whilst the last 3 months have been awful on so many levels we may now be starting to see the possibility of returning to some kind of normal, whatever that will be.

Your involvement with the club recognises our main responsibility in the months to come, which is to go on, and hopefully be able to play our part in making everything a little better in all aspects of our community and within our football club. We all have a responsibility to remember what has happened and learn from it.

It seems a good time to bring everything up to date for you in one communication. What have we achieved as a group? What we are in the process of doing (or trying to) and what is being worked on currently?

So here we go, some you will already know some you may not.

  • You have raised over £52,000 from sales of shares and virtual games initiatives, just fantastic and humbling.
  • Your actions have been recognised by the rest of your football family with the chairman of the NPL recognising you as’ Inspirational’
  • Your actions have helped to currently stabilise the financial position of the club.
  • All available government funding in its different guises have been applied for and received.
  • We responded to your requests and set out 5 clear objectives at the start of our Stand Together campaign which you responded brilliantly to and we have all ‘Come Together’ to move forward. The 5 clear objectives were to:-
    1. safeguard the Football Club from extinction from the unprecedented challenges we all face;
    2. protect our employees as far as we can in both an economic sense and in respect of our duty of care. We will need them in the future and we owe them;
    3. minimise disruption;
    4. follow the government guidelines of social distancing & prevent the spread of Covid19;
    5. communicate our position to fans in a clear manner on a regular basis.
  • We have implemented many IT changes to facilitate payment of different initiatives and changed the website to improve our communication. We have established robust financial models to ensure best practice decisions.
  • We have tried to communicate effectively with you and set a tone and message we can all buy in to. We have delivered messages through traditional and electronic channels better.
  • We have set out a vision we can all buy into and drive forward – ‘To make Stafford Rangers the best club in non-league football, on and off the pitch’.

National Volunteers Week – Thank You!

This week is National Volunteers Week and, during this period of being football free, we can reflect on how much volunteers do for clubs like ours, up and down the land. Where non league clubs would be without volunteers, you just have to wonder. From cleaning dressing rooms and getting the kit ready, to working on the pitch, selling programmes and draw tickets, then working on projects to raise money for improvements and infrastructure, it all helps the club and community pull forward, together.
Our own current situation has seen a Business Continuity Group come together, as volunteers, and help keep the club alive, out plans in place to move forward and keep the club in the public eye. Some work has continued at the ground, with all of the correct measures, while we hope those that can safely volunteer will pop along and help out with some of the usual Summer work that is carried out.
Looking forward, we would love our band of volunteers to grow, while also encouraging our next generation to get involved and help forge further relationships around the club. Every Summer we call for volunteers to come forward and this year is no different. In the coming days we will make a further announcement regarding volunteering, so please keep watching!
